Fees

E-counseling Fees:


  • Initial brief session for $40 (CAN funds)
  • Regular session for $55 (CAN funds)
  • Package of 3 regular sessions for $150 (CAN funds)

    Fees are based on the time it takes to read your e-mail and to formulate the response.

    Fees are about half the fees of most face-to-face therapy sessions.

    Payment is made online by credit card via Paypal.

    Face-to-face is paid by cheque or cash on the day of the session or prior to the session by credit card via Paypal.

    Cancellations must be made prior to 48 hours in advance, otherwise a $25 fee will be charged to cover office rental.


  • Extended Health and Health Insurance Plans:

    E-mailtherapy.com does not bill Extended Health Plans, MSP, Medicare, Medicaid or any other insurance providers. You need to ask your extended health care provider to see if they cover e-counseling or face-to-face counseling with a registered social worker. Policies and plans often change. Online counselingis becoming more widely accepted as a therapeutic intervention, especially as cost, efficiency and access to services are being taken into consideration in provision of health care services.

    In Canada, Health insurance or extended health benefits may reimburse counseling fees paid to Registered Social Workers. Some Employee Assistance Programs (EAP or EFAP) have covered costs of counselling with a Registered Social Worker if there has been prior approval. This will differ depending upon your place of residence. Be sure to check with your health benefit provider and your employer. Some organizations in British Columbia, Canada, who have been know to have reimbursed employees in the past are:

    • Telus (union employees only, not management)
    • University of Victoria (faculty and staff)
    • Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation
    • University of British Columbia's Student Health Plan
    • City of Vancouver
